Lemonade or what we refer to as Nimbu Pani here in India is the next best thing to plain drinking water. Period. When it comes to instant mix lemonade flavored drinks, truth be told, none of the ones currently on the market (leaving aside the one to be reviewed for now!) taste even close to the natural one.
There is something about the real lemonade that makes one want to relish more than just one glass, especially in the scorching summer heat. Hence, an instant mix drink that tastes even 90 percent similar to a natural homemade lemonade would seem like a ‘Godsend’ product.
Amidst the plethora of lemon drinks that have crowded the market none of them taste as good as this one. Say hello to Jalani Nimbu Pani! A ready to mix lemonade powder with a straight forward name!
Now, Jalani as we have come to know of is synonymous with Jaljira, their spicy appetizing beverage powder. That is one of the main reasons why curiosity was raised on spotting a slightly differently designed packet from Jalani. Upon closer inspection it indeed turned out to be something that was not Jaljira from Jalani. Without even blinking once, a couple of packets were immediately purchased to try it out at home because home is where the glass is! (Unless of course someone arranges it for you!).
This turned out to be one of the best findings made here! Open up the sachet, pour the contents into a glass, add water to it and then stir it for few seconds and bam! There you have it! The real deal! The closest taste to the real lemonade that one can ever get! Jalani is genius! For two bucks a sachet at a time when a single lemon retails for five bucks; one does not even have to think twice before buying it. Agreed that it is not all natural but you are not buying ready to mix and drink lemonade powder expecting it to be natural anyway! When life doesn’t give you lemons and yet you want to make lemonade, you know what to do!
The packet mentions the usage of 180ml of water to make one glass of Nimbu Pani but it still tastes great even when you add more than the specified amount. Even up to 250ml addition of water fails to dilute the taste and tanginess of the powder’s flavor.
Here’s a tip to make it more interesting. Mix Nimbu Pani powder in a very little (about 20ml) of water so that it mixes with it evenly and then add plain soda to it. The quantity of soda should be as per your choice. Take my word for it, it tastes awesome!
To conclude, Jalani Nimbu Pani scores a perfect 10/10 for the taste and refreshing experience that it offers at such a low price point. The packaging is neutral and it’s easy to mistake it for Jaljira or even miss it altogether by mistaking it for another run of the mill Nimbu Pani ready to mix and drink powder.
Jalani Nimbu Pani is special, to beat the summer heat or to enjoy it whenever you want to just for the heck of it. Serve this to your (unannounced) guests instead of the usual fizzy drinks or tea or squeezing out one lemon after another and struggling to get the salt and sugar proportions ‘just right’. This takes up little to no storage space as compared to stocking up on huge fizz bottles; tastes better than any other lemonade powder mixed drink and even homemade ones that majority of the people prepare (or rather screw it up). A definite two thumbs up for this product! Recommended wholeheartedly! And buy this in truckloads because the shops just don’t seem to stock up enough and the people who know about it already make it disappear off the store shelves making it run out of stock immediately after its availability.
